News Flash: Senators assign Martin Gerber to Binghamton

The Ottawa Senators today assigned goaltender Martin Gerber to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Gerber, 34, has posted six wins and as many losses in 13 games with the B-Sens this season. He posts a 2.90 goals-against average, a .911 save percentage and one shutout. He also has four wins, nine losses and an overtime loss in 14 games with Ottawa this season. He has posted a 2.86 goals-against average and .899 save percentage. He last saw action with the Senators in a 6-4 loss to the Bruins in Boston on Jan. 8.

In 100 games with Ottawa, Gerber has 49 wins, 36 losses and eight overtime/shootout losses, a .907 save percentage and a 2.76 goals-against average. In 214 career NHL games, he has 104 wins, 73 losses, seven ties, 14 overtime/shootout losses, a .910 save percentage and 2.61 goals-against average.

The Binghamton Senators (31-20-5-3) next see action tonight, when they host the Rochester Americans.
