My first Triathlon – DONE and DONE
What a rush!!! It was an amazing day and wish I could do it all again….really. Considering that I had my ACL surgery back in January and started swimming in Carleton university in July, I am more then happy with my result. It was great to compete in this event with my friend Simon Macdonald, which was his first triathlon as well. My mom, brother, and a few others were there to cheer me on as I transitioned between the swim to bike and bike to run. So…where do I stand, why don’t I load up the results.
Combining all the athletes in the Try-a-Tri event, I ended up in 4th place overall. Drilling down a little further, I was in third place overall for the males, first in my swim, and first in the bike, but lost the lead in the run towards the end. Take a look for yourself:

What will this mean for next time? I got to work on increasing my running cadence and improve my transition times. However, the goal of this event was to have fun, but also do my best. I couldn’t have asked for a better result, especially, what I have been through this year with my recovery. I hope to publish photo’s once they are posted on ZoomPhoto.ca

You did amazing Paul. We’re going to have to do more of these next year. I’m in the process of scanning the photo’s my Dad took and I’ll send you a link once they’re done.
