My teammates and I are participating again in the Terry Fox Run with our “Blades@Ease” team. We are looking for more members to join our team and if you are interested in doing the run on rollerblades, please let me know.

Our team goal is raise about $1000 per member or even more. All money is raised, goes towards cancer research.

Please support my participation by donating here.

Thanks

The Brun is done with London

The week had gone by too quickly. Lots was accomplished from a business perspective, but practically nothing at all from a tourist perspective, but I guess that is how it goes when you are on a business trip. I did get a chance to complete the Ale Trail and collect two T-shirts from the whole experience.

More on that later though…..got to eat my breakfast and than get through security.

Over and out….

The Brun meets London!!!

Well….I arrived in London, UK early this morning (6:25am) and decided to take the longer route from Heathrow by taking the Underground instead of the Express Train to Central London. A 50 minute journey vs. 20 minutes, I think. My hotel is two blocks from Holborn station on the Picadilly Line, which connects you to Heathrow. I was surprised to see how busy some stations were for a Sunday morning, but this is London.

After picking up my luggage, it felt like I was walking for ages by the time I got to the underground at Heathrow. All my past trips took me outside of London either to Wales or Milton Keynes (last trip), which required the use of a rental car. It was definitely different flying into a destination which did not require me to rent a car because who really needs one in London and second, I am a 10 minute walk from my customer.
The hotel is great…I don’t have a room yet, but that doesn’t matter because I took the time this morning to have breakfast, grab a coffee and relax. Right now, I am going to tour the city for a bit and figure out what it is I want to see. I have a few options which I will look up after posting this blog and then I will head out and see what the city has to offer for part of the day.
However, as this is a business trip, I will have to do some prep work before I visit the customer site tomorrow. What does this mean, my being a tourist in this city will be short-lived, but at least I will get a taste for the city before retiring for the evening. If I like what I see, I may end up coming back for vacation next time around.
Well….that is enough blogging for one morning. I will try to post some pictures on my site once I get some….hopefully, some that include me to prove I am actually in London. :-)
So long….
Paul
