Burrito’s and More

This is absurd…Mucho Burrito is replacing Zavida Coffee House. For some odd reason, I had thought that Second Cup was replacing Zavida, so to see a Burrito sign on the location was definitely a bit of a surprise. Certain decisions just don’t make sense any more.

It has been a while since I have posted anything in connection to my ACL surgical recovery. I am at the latter stages of my recovery and everything is going very smoothly. I have started running on the treadmill and can reach 8.0 mph for a good minute towards the end of my 15/20 minute run. The knee itself feels quite strong and I am hoping to receive good news from my 5 month post-surgical consult with Dr. Liew at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital.

For all intents and purposes, I can’t complain about the road to recovery. The first couple of weeks were a test to my patience, but I worked through that tough time and was able to attack my physical fitness and rehabilitation with renewed spirit.

My surgeon should be able to clear me for certain activities that would involve minimal pivoting and cutting, however, if he does, that will be my queue to begin my indoor conditioning to build up to outdoor activities.

Zavida Coffee house is no more….. :-(

This news comes as a complete shock because I really enjoyed visiting Zavida Coffee house. It was different from the rest of the coffee chains, which now consist of Second Cup, Starbucks and the all Canadian Tim Horton’s.

The staff at Zavida were very personable and enjoyed serving you on a daily basis. I can’t say how much I enjoyed studying and working from that location since the WiFI was free and the coffee was simply outstanding. Sometimes I would spend over 2 to 3 hours, just sipping my coffee and working away until either the store would typically close.

From what I hear, Second Cup bought the location. I just hope that they will keep the same charm that Zavida had, but it is unlikely. At the least, I hope the hours remain the same and the interior decor will make Second Cup inviting and comfortable.

I wish the WiFI will remain free, but as they are partnered with Bell Canada/Rogers for WiFI, this is very unlikely.
