Bell Broadband users, watch out for those critters

I just read an article that broadband users on the Bell network had the highest percentage of virus attacks pegged at 17%. A spokesman for Symantec, who develops the infamous Norton Antivirus software, had indicated that this is not surprising since Bell has the largest number of Canadians using their network at 24%. Therefore, since they have the most users, they would be a bigger target.

You can read the original article here: Globe and Mail Technology Report

Whether this report is true or not, Bell is refusing to accept these statistics as valid since they claim to be the most secure network in Canada.

Regardless of your Internet provide, as long as you have a router/firewall that fronts the Internet connection, you should be safe….end of story.

It was definitely an interesting read.
