4 weeks Post-Op

The past 4 weeks have flown by pretty quickly from the recovery perspective.

So….how is it going so far? Well…I have been steadily improving the strength in my quadriceps and have 95% of my full range of motion. I am now using 5 lb weights around my ankle when performing leg lifts and inner/outer hip raises. I am now extending my time on the bike and have been introduced to the step machine.

To add to those exercises, I am doing partial leg squats if you can call them that. I basically stand with my repaired knee on one step and the left leg is hanging over the edge. I then lower myself down slowly until the left foot touches the ground. Also, just this past Monday, I started doing some balancing exercises on an uneven surface.

Overall….I am making excellent progress for only four weeks out of surgery. I can’t imagine what is must have been like when people had to wear casts for 6 weeks when ACL surgeries were performed more than 20 years ago.

Next update in about two weeks.
