Super Tuesday has come and gone….

And where does that leave us? No clear leader within the Democratic party and Senator McCain from Arizona pretty much taking the top-spot after Mitt Romney suspends his bid for Presidency earlier today. I am a fan of Senator McCain from Arizona and this has no bearing on having lived in Arizona for 6 years, well…actually it does. He is a smart guy and genuinely believe he has what it takes to become the President of the United States. The only other Republican left standing in the Presidential fight is Mike Hucabee from Arkansas. Do I think he will become the Republican nominee at the convention Minneapolis-Saint Paul? Unlikely as Senator McCain is clearly gaining momentum and Hucabee is unlikely to garner any mass appeal beyond states he won this past Tuesday. However, don’t rule out Romney as all he did was “suspend” his bid, he didn’t end his bid as a reporter on CBS evening news pointed out this evening.

So…let us assume that McCain gets the nomination for the Republicans. Does he have the political know-how to win against either Senator Clinton or Obama? When you look at the Democratic ticket, you obviously have two very smart people. Hillary Clinton has the background, intelligence and the experience to lead the country given her husband was President not to long ago. Regardless of who you listen to and what you are hearing, he is a considerable asset to her campaign. On the other hand, Barack Obama is a very intelligent, well spoken and has the stamina to take on the tough job of being the President. His fresh idea’s and appeal to the younger population may be key to what the country needs at this time as we continue on into the 21st century.

Now…will either candidate be able to win over the nation next to McCain? That is a tough call and I do not want to speculate based on polls conducted by media outlets. I reserve judgment until I see the debates in October. It should definitely be an interesting year for those that are interested in politics. It has been a while since there has been no natural incumbent for either party.

Hope this blog see’s you all doing well and do hope you are enjoying reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

Take care…

Paul
