As I have said before in previous blog posts, it is amazing how quickly the knee heals and how one progresses as the days go by.
Let’s see now, aside from cycling now for about 15 minutes, I am now able to get on to the step machine and do up to 100 steps. I am also doing lateral step ups and slow single-legged quadricep controlled squat’s (if you can call it that) from a 4 inch rise, about half a normal house-step.
As far as knee flexion, I can go to about 110 degree’s, which is a lot better than the 50 degree’s or so I was able to do on Tuesday of last week.
What else am I cleared to do….slow elliptical rotations with my ACL brace, which I can do in the gym. None of the exercises that I am doing at the moment is meant to introduce cardio or hard-core strength training. It is more meant to introduce motion and achieve full range of motion before my next post-operative visit with Dr. Liew.
Based on my progress, I am pretty much set to reach that goal with relative ease. At this point in time, I think I will be updating you on my ACL status once a week and devote my blog to other topics throughout the week.
I am heading to Fitness Depot tomorrow to look into purchasing some ankle weights so I can work on some the exercises both at home or in the gym.
Otherwise, this week was pretty exciting on the US Election front, but I think I will write up a separate blog once Super Tuesday is over.
Until I blog again…..take care.
