6 days and counting

So we are 6 days past my surgery date and things are going pretty smoothly. I ventured out of my families home for the first time to see my orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Liew, for my one week post-op. The purpose of the visit was to ensure the surgical wounds are healing and that there is no infection. I have to schedule myself for a 6 week follow up so Dr. Liew can assess the Range of Motion after having had approximately 6 weeks of physio-therapy.
Physiotherapy will be taking place at the Carleton University Sports Medicine Centre. They are the top-rated location for ACL recovery in the region. With the exercises that I will be doing along with the physio sessions, I hope to regain most of my balance and ability to drive by the beginning of next week.
I did get a chance to get further in Rick Mercer’s book. There is nothing like keeping your mind off things by reading through his rants on Canadian Politics.
This week I am back at work, but remotely. Since I can’t drive yet, I have opted to work from home this week.
Thanks for reading up on my progress. I will write as I progress through my session between now and 6 weeks. I will occasionally write about other stuff, but that will depend the news of the day.
