Well….two days have come and gone since my ACL surgery with Dr. Liew. I must say the procedure itself went every well.
Was I nervous the morning of the surgery? Yes.
Was I second-guessing myself that morning? Yes.
Any regrets? No
Would I go through surgery again? Hopefully not again. I don’t like hospitals….
I was first greeted by the Anesthesiologist who discussed the nerve block that was going to be used on me. It was for the specific purpose of controlling pain, post-operatively. It was meant to work for a period of 16 hours after surgery. The last thing I remember was getting the nerve block, which wasn’t the most pleasent experience and someone starting to shave my right leg.
The next thing that I remember was waking up to some slight pain in my right leg and then getting a shot of demerol in my left arm. Apparantly, the nerve block was not as successful as they had hoped. So, around noon time, I had my first dose of Tylenol 3′s.
After that point, things were fairly smooth sailing…..post-op appointment is set for Monday and physio is set for Tuesday. More to follow as the days roll by.
